Tonight Jack Eichel made his long awaited return to Buffalo, after his trade to the Vegas Golden Knight earlier this season. Eichel was public enemy number one when he left Buffalo after demanding a trade from the only franchise he'd ever know. After seven years with the franchise it was a dispute over his medical care that ultimately was the last hurdle the two parties couldn't overcome.
It seems though that even after the trade there are hard feelings between Eichel and the entire City of Buffalo. At the end of warm-ups Eichel was greeted with a chorus of boos from the crowd. Eichel was the last Knight player off the ice, so it was clear he was expecting some sort of response from the crowd.
After the Knight's 3-1 loss Eichel was made available to the media and he didn't hold back at all with his comments.
That's the loudest I've heard this place, ever. It only took 7 years and me leaving for them to get into it.
As someone who previously felt Eichel was made out to be the bad guy, it's really starting to seem like Eichel might just be the bad guy.
