Kane breached contract and possibly broke the law

Earlier today it was announced that the Sharks were terminating Evander Kane's contract for breach.
The reason for the termination of his contract is apparently he travelled to Canada (Vancouver) while being COVID positive. Not only is this against NHL rules, it is against the law to enter Canada without providing a negative COVID test within 72 hours of travel.
So this is merely speculation but Evander Kane could have been using a fake test.
