Evander Kane has cleared waivers and is going to have his contract terminated by the San Jose Sharks. The NHLPA has already shared that they plan on filing a grievance on behalf of Kane for wrongful termination of his deal.
According to Reporter Chris Johnston and CapFriendly, Evander Kane will be forfeiting $22,900,000 in salary owed between now and June 2025.
It was reported last night on Hockey Night in Canada that it is expected Kane will draw immediate interest from multiple NHL teams depending on the cost of Kane's next deal. This situation also gets more complicated because if an Arbitrator files in Kane's behalf he would officially have 2 valid NHL contracts if he were to sign a new NHL deal.
It was previously reported that Boston, Toronto, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Nashville and Dallas all made trips to scout Kane and could have some continued interest in the polarizing forward.
