After a few days of some really depressing news the Leafs have finally got some positive news from their prospect perspective. It was announced this week that 3 Maple Leafs prospects would represent their countries at the World Junior Championships.
Matthew Knies - United States of America
Roni Hirvonen - Finland
Topi Niemelä- Finland
The positive Leafs news continues because today Roni Hirvonen was named Captain of Team Finland and Topi Niemelä was named an Assistant Captain for the team.
It's great to see that not only are the Leafs developing future players but possibly future leaders as well.
