He spent two years in Montreal and then was eventually traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in return for Josh Anderson.
His two years in Columbus were not the most productive, only scoring 18 goals in the 2 seasons he played there. The team did not win very often, and it apparently was just not a good time for him.
Last night the Chicago Blackhawks played their final game before the Christmas break, which was against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Domi was meeting with the media on Thursday after his practice, and he was asked about his time in Columbus, which he said:
Max Domi on Christmas break: "I'm pretty excited, actually. My whole family's here. I was in Columbus for two years, so I didn't get many visitors. All of a sudden I'm in a nice city, so my whole family wants to come. I don't know if it's me or the city." Mark Lazerus (@MarkLazerus) December 22, 2022
Domi has actually been pretty productive on the Blackhawks season this year, despite the team playing poorly. He signed a one year deal with the Hawks in the offseason and could be a valuable add to a team looking for some additional scoring and grit for a playoff run.
