During the last night's game between the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild, Jordan Binnington's usual aggressive behavior took a turn for the worse when he punched an opponent. After Ryan Hartman scored a goal and made contact with Binnington, the Blues' goalie reacted by striking him in the face with his blocker and stick.
Binnington's childish actions have earned him a negative reputation among hockey fans, who have been eagerly waiting for a goalie to fight him and teach him a lesson. Marc-Andre Fleury was the first to step up to the challenge and even wore a microphone during the confrontation, which was captured in a video clip shared by his agent, Allan Walsh.
In the clip, Fleury skates towards Binnington and challenges him to a fight. As the referees intervene and prevent the altercation, Fleury humorously remarks, "It'll be good! He always wants to fight somebody, you know?" Fleury's willingness to take on the league's notorious troublemaker only adds to his reputation as one of the league's top goaltenders and characters.
