So far in the Stanley Cup playoffs, there have been several upsets, including the New York Rangers being eliminated by the New Jersey Devils. For Patrick Kane, who joined the Rangers on Trade Deadline day with hopes of winning a Stanley Cup, the disappointment was palpable.
Now that he is an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career, the hockey world is speculating where he will play next.
Although Kane has not made any official announcement, he has ruled out returning to his former team, the Chicago Blackhawks, when asked by the media.
"They haven't even crossed my mind."
However, he did hint at his preferred destination, suggesting that he would love to remain in The Big Apple saying:
"I would love to be back. If I can feel better, with this team and this opportunity, I'd love that chance."
Kane is a first ballot Hall of famer no doubt but, at 34, he still feels he can help a team win a Stanley Cup. I think Kane will look at all his options and then decide but either way it's going to be exciting to see where Kane goes.
