If this was 2015, Phil Kessel would never have been a free agent for as long as he was this year. The former 90 point scorer spent a few rough seasons in Arizona, but even a ''rough season'' Kessel still managed 52 points on an offensively challenged team.
Late Wednesday night, Phil Kessel signed a one-year deal with the Vegas Golden Knights as a show me deal. The veteran still showed last season he can produce even on a poor team, but could only get a $1,500,000 contract.
In Kessel's first interview since joining the Golden Knights, he takes a hilarious shot at his former team in Arizona:
It's going to be cool to play for a team that wants to win.
While the Golden Knights have had major success during their time in the league and have some superstar players in the organization like Eichel, Stone & Pietreangelo, the Golden Knights missed the playoffs last year. They were also dealt a major blow this month that Robin Lehner will miss the season as well to recover from surgery.
