After missing all of but 27 minutes of game 1 of the series against the Edmonton Oilers, goaltender Darcy Kuemper was seen skating in the starters net during this mornings practice.
It has not yet been 100% confirmed, but it suggests that Kuemper will be getting the start for game 1 of the finals. Jared Bednar declined to confirm who the starter will be, but all signs point to Kuemper.
After Kuemper sustained multiple injuries during these playoffs, Joe Sakic had this to say about his starting goalie:
Sakic: Darcy Kuemper is 100% healthy right now Greg Wyshynski (@wyshynski) June 14, 2022
While Kuemper has been injured, Francouz has carried the work load. So far Francouz is 6-0 between the pipes, but his individual stats have been a little below average, through the 6 games he has a 2.86 GAA and .906 SV%.
While the team is confident in both goaltenders, Kuemper if 100% healthy will be the better option against the Powerhouse Tampa Bay Lightning.
