Mike Hoffman, a forward for the Montreal Canadiens, recently took to social media to express his frustration with the National Hockey League's Player Safety department. Hoffman was the victim of a high cross check to the face delivered by A.J. Greer of the Boston Bruins during a game on Thursday night. The incident left Hoffman bloodied and injured on the ice.
The league responded by suspending Greer for one game, but Hoffman felt the punishment was inadequate. He posted a video on his Instagram story, showing the extent of his injury and calling out Player Safety for not taking the incident seriously enough.
Hoffman's public criticism of the league's decision demonstrates his dissatisfaction with the current state of player safety in the NHL. It also highlights the ongoing debate over the effectiveness of the league's disciplinary system and whether it does enough to deter dangerous plays on the ice.
