After getting healthy scratched in a few games of round 3 of the stanley cup playoffs against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Reaves now realizes he needs to make some adjustments in his game to still be an effective player in the NHL.
So when he was asked about his summer training plans, he had one area in mind.
I think a lot of my summer is just trying to get as fast as I can... I've got to keep up with these young guys now.
Reaves scored 5 goals and 8 assists this season in the NHL, but providing scoring is not when he is paid to do. Reaves is around to provide pain and deliver big hits to protect the star players on the Rangers.
Reaves is signed for one more year with the Rangers at a $1.75 million AAV, so if he wants to remain an NHL player after this contract, some adjustments will need to be made.
