Director of Film Scouting for EliteProspects, Cam Robinson, is a highly regarded figure in the hockey community. He currently boasts nearly 24,000 followers on his Twitter account where he analyzes top prospects and players.
Last night, he has quite the interesting prediction for Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho.
While this may seem like a hot take on the surface, Aho has shown why he is capable of having a breakout.
Since 2018-19, Aho has scored 354 points in 360 total games or roughly a 0.983 point per game play pace. He has proven to be one of the most consistent players over the past 5 years but is yet to truly break out in the eyes of the public the era where so many players can score 100+ points.
Coming off a disappointing 67 point campaign, Aho looks to bounce back in a major way. The Hurricanes are also looking to bounce back after getting swept in the Eastern Conference Finals by the Florida Panthers.
Aho will have some new teammates that include Dmitry Orlov and Michael Bunting as well as a healthy Andrei Svechnikov. On top of this, the Hurricanes are linked to some of the top assets on the the trade market that include Erik Karlsson among others.
If the Hurricanes continue to bolster their lineup, we could see Aho take the bull by the horns and develop into one of the most premier talents in the NHL.
