He was coming from the NHL, he was the projected #1 overall pick in the 2022 draft (fell to 4th) and with all his experience, bringing it to a young Canadian dressing room seemed like the right move.
Through the first 5 games of the tournament, Wright has 3 goals and 3 assists, which is very good, but when you compare him to the projected 2023 1st overall pick Connor Bedard who is leading the tournament with 21 points, Wright is a little bit behind.
Last night when the Canadians played Slovakia, Wright was playing the puck behind the opponents net and the Slovakian defenceman gave him a push, which it looks like Wright then proceeded to launch himself hard into the boards.
While maybe he was just off-balance and the push caught him by surprise, it definitely doesn't look like the push was hard enough to have this outcome without a little assistance from Shane.
