After making a trade earlier today sending Frank Vatrano to the New York Rangers to free up cap space, it looks like the Florida Panthers have acquired a new defenceman to fill that cap space.
The Montreal Canadiens have officially jumped feet first into their rebuild as they have officially traded Ben Chiarot to the Florida Panthers.
Chiarot was an integral part of the Canadiens run to the Stanley Cup last season and the rugged defenseman will be a welcome edition to the Panthers blue line.
