Last year we saw teams introduce helmet ads, which honestly wasn't too bad, we all hoped it would end with that, but this season the National Hockey League has been unveiling jersey ads to help recoup lost revenue during COVID.
Only one team so far has come out and said they will not be putting any advertising on their jersey and that was the Edmonton Oilers.
Today the Toronto Maple Leafs have unveiled their ad, and well, let's just say fans are not very happy about it.

While I have to say that all advertising on jerseys is disgusting, this ad by the Toronto Maple Leafs I think has been the best looking one yet. It blends in with the jersey well, matches the colours and while I still don't like ads, it just fits in.
The Maple Leafs did a very good job getting a sponsor and ad that blends into the jersey, and let's hope other teams continue to follow suit.
So a franchise that makes as much as the Leafs needs to desecrate a jersey as historic as the Leafs just to make a bit more money not surprised, just disappointed— JR Luck 🍁 (@Lucky_Fuzz131) September 20, 2022
