The Dallas Stars started this season with so much promise and belief that they could really compete and take a run this season. However thing's haven't gone the Stars way and are currently on the outside of the playoffs looking in.
The Stars are only 5-5 in their last 10 games and that isn't going to help their chances. Things seem to be getting worse with frustrations boiling over in Dallas and head coach Ruck Bowness has centered out a player.
That player is Denis Gurianov who for the first time in his career is a healthy scratch. Stars head coach shared this with the media on his decision:
"Well, he's an offensive player and there's been absolutely nothing happening offensively for four or five games. Simple as that. I don't expect every player to be the most reliable defensive player. That's not in everyone's makeup, but if you're not going to be reliable defensively, you have to be able to put some offense on the boards and that's just not happening right now. We've done it before, we've let him sit out and watch a game. It got him going last time, we're hoping it gets him going again today because we need him"
- Rick Bowness
Gurianov has 11 goals and 29 points in 61 games so far this season. The Dallas Stars sit 5th in the Central division with a 37-25-3 this season.
Personal note, if I was to start throwing blame at anyone, it would be the so called ''Big 3'' Seguin, Benn & Radulov who are getting paid big money to produce poorly.
