On July 10th 2013, Perron was Traded from St. Louis Blues with round 3 pick in the 2015 draft (Mike Robinson) to Edmonton Oilers for Magnus Paajarvi, round 2 pick in the 2014 draft (Ivan Barbashev) and round 4 pick in the 2015 draft (Adam Musil).
He would spend a year and a half in Edmonton, where things just didn't seem to click for the forward and later would get traded from the Edmonton Oilers to Pittsburgh Penguins for Rob Klinkhammer and round 1 pick in the 2015 draft (Mathew Barzal).
He would then again spend a year and a half in Pittsburgh before getting traded from Pittsburgh Penguins with Adam Clendening to Anaheim Ducks for Carl Hagelin.
After this season he would return to St Louis as a free agent, and spend a season with the Blues until he got claimed by the Vegas Golden Knights in the expansion draft.
But after one season he would return back to the St. Louis Blues once again and won a cup in his first season returning.
This past season Perron set a career high in goals (27) and is currently a UFA. The pending free agent is coming off a contract where he made a very team friendly $4,000,000 cap hit, and will be looking for a significant raise on this.
Perron is looking for a new contract this offseason and here's where he would like to play:
David Perron wants to return, Doug Armstrong indicated how much he's meant and would like him back, teammates want him back. I don't see this as an issue moving forward. Two sides seem to be in agreement he belongs here, wants to be here. #stlblues Lou Korac (@lkorac10) May 31, 2022
