Waivers have been heating up in recent days in the NHL, and now there has been a former first-round pick waived, among another 22 players.

Over the last two days, we have seen over 40 players placed on waivers, and on Sunday, another 23 were added to the list by Calgary, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Montreal, Nashville, St. Louis, and Tampa Bay.

The waivers were first reported by Elliotte Friedman, and in similar fashion to the last few days, there are a lack of notable names beyond one, former first-round draft pick Kieffer Bellows. Bellows was the No. 19 overall pick by the New York Islanders back in 2016, but spent the 2023/24 campaign with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, before now being waived by the Nashville Predators.

As we have seen, the last few days have seen many players placed on waivers, but none claimed as all 32 teams are focused on dwindling down their own roster, and without any big names on waivers, it's very likely that things will stay the same when Monday waivers are officially revealed.

The NHL's regular season is now less than six days away from beginning, with all 32 teams having hopes of a Stanley Cup, and with some more pre-season games to go and plenty more practices behind the scenes, the cuts and waivers will continue flying. As always, we will keep you updated on waivers and cuts by all 32 teams, but for now, there's another long list of players placed on waivers with very few if any likely to be claimed.
