Team Sweden's Victor Hedman makes bold prediction on who he thinks will win the final game
, but that didn't stop Victor Hedman from predicting that Canada will get their revenge and win.
Victor Hedman and Team Sweden completed the final game of the 4 Nations Face-Off on Feb. 17 with a strong conclusion and won over Team USA by a score of 2-1.
With that result, Team USA now prepares to take on Team Canada in the tournament final on Feb. 20. When asked for his prediction, the Tampa Bay Lightning captain carefully considered his choice before picking Team Canada as the likely winner.
"That's a tough one," Hedman said. "You know, I got Haggy [Brandon Hagel], I got a lot of guys on Team Canada. I got Guentz [Jake Guentzel] on team US. So, I can't really pick a winner... But looking at it, US on home ice, but I think Canada gets their revenge." Team USA had defeated Team Canada 3-1 in their first encounter of the tournament on Feb. 17. The team, however, is threatened by injuries during the rematch.
Against Sweden, Auston Matthews, Matthew Tkachuk, and Charlie McAvoy were already benched while Brady Tkachuk left the game injured. Vincent Trocheck was also injured, but he reappeared in this game.
The U.S. did get some good news earlier today regarding both Brady and Matthew Tkachuk, as it appears both will be good to go for the final game, not having suffered any real serious injuries.
Whether Hedman's prophecy is accurate or not is yet to be determined, but this much is true, hockey enthusiasts are in for a thrilling final game.
