MacKinnon targets and hurts Stars defenseman struggling with injury
Early on in tonight's game between the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche, Nathan MacKinnon took a run at Chris Tanev knocking him out of the game.
At the trade deadline, the Dallas Stars went out looking for a shutdown defenseman who could stop high-flying offenses. They brought in Chris Tanev and thus far, he has been able to bring that.
However, in game four of their series against the Colorado Avalanche, Tanev had to leave prematurely after a massive hit from Ross Colton.
Chris Tanev didn't play another shift after this hit by Ross Colton, although it may have been precautionary, given the large lead.
Tonight during game five, Tanev has had to leave once again after this hit from Nathan MacKinnon.
Chris Tanev took a big hit from Ross Colton near end of Game 4 and stayed off the ice last 2 days.
Now he leaves the ice after his first shift tonight following this play... went to dressing room
Currently, the Avalanche are down 3-1 in their series against the Stars and are fighting for their seasons in game five. At the moment, they are down 1-0 about halfway through the first period.
