Elliotte Friedman Links J.T. Miller to Surprising Western Conference Team
The renowned insider Elliotte Friedman linked the Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller to a surprising Western Conference team.
It's starting to become clearer that the Vancouver Canucks' general manager Patrik Allvin is poised to trade either Elias Pettersson or J.T. Miller.
Amid the alleged rift between the two teammates, it appears that both players won't have to stay in the same organization for much longer.
Indeed, while he would prefer to keep them both, Allvin has been taking (and making) calls for Pettersson and Miller on the trade market.
According to Elliotte Friedman:
"It's sounding like the Vancouver Canucks are leaning toward a major roster change as it becomes clearer to management that the current roster - specifically feuding stars J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson - cannot co-exist. Don't be surprised if we start hearing the Canucks are willing to take calls on Miller."
While many teams would be interested in acquiring either one of them, Miller's cap-friendly $8M AAV contract would surely be easier to move than Pettersson's $11,600,000 AAV deal.
As of now, reports confirmed that a few teams have been inquiring about Miller.
For the past weeks, the New York Rangers showed interest, but now, Friedman confirmed that another organization should go after Miller: the Chicago Blackhawks.
It hasn't been easy in Chicago in the past few seasons. Despite drafting Connor Bedard and adding significant free agents to the lineup, the team is yet to reach the next level.
After 38 games this season, the Hawks are in the 8th position of the Central Division with a 12-24-2 record.
Elliotte Friedman stated on the latest episode of 32 Thoughts that the Blackhawks should absolutely go after Miller.

With a few teams in the derby to get him, it'll be interesting to see who ends up making the best offer to the Canucks.
