The St. Louis Blues and Edmonton Oilers made a trade after Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway's offer sheets go through.

Elliotte Friedman, one of the most renowned NHL insider, was the first to share the news on Tuesday morning: the Oilers decided to let Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway go, by not matching the St. Louis Blues offer sheets.

The two draft picks that were part of the offer sheets terms aren't the only assets leaving St. Louis for Edmonton.

In breaking news, the Blues revealed that they've made an additional trade with the Oilers.

The Oilers received a 2028 third-round draft pick as well as Paul Fischer, an unsigned, 19-year-old defenseman.

Read the official announcement here:

"In a separate transaction, St. Louis is sending its 2028 third-round draft pick and unsigned 2023 fifth-round draft selection Paul Fischer to Edmonton for future considerations."

Drafted 138th overall by the Blue in 2023, Fischer, a defensive defenseman, could be a great fit in Edmonton.

He's 6'1", 201 lbs, and knows how to use his size at its advantage. He plays a physical game, making him a tough player to play against. In the past season, he played for the University of Notre Dame, in the NCAA, where he scored 16 points in 34 games.

Oilers fans are eager to see what he'll bring to the team in a few weeks, at the start of the training camp.

More to come.
