Trevor Zegras Leaves Game After Worrying Injury: Concerns Grow in Anaheim
Concerns are growing in Anaheim after the Ducks forward Trevor Zegras had to leave last night's game against the Vegas Golden Knights due to a worrying injury.
Since he was drafted in the NHL, Trevor Zegras has dealt with his fair share of injuries. He notably missed over 50 games last season because of two injuries, including one that required surgery.
This season, Zegras was looking forward to playing his first complete season in the League. However, it doesn't seem it'll happen this year.
Last night, in a game against the Vegas Golden Knights, Zegras had to leave the ice after an awkward no-contact leg movement made him collapse on the ice in pain.
He was assisted by his teammate, barely able to put weight on his leg.
Watch how it all happened in the following video:
While we don't know the full extent of his injury, the Ducks seem to prepare for the worst.
Head Coach Greg Cronin made the following revelation, confirming that any injuries in the roster can affect the team's flow.
In his own words:
.When you lose any player, it disrupts the flow. We're not giving any different directions whether 'Z' is in or out, or whether Leo is in or out. (We) try to play the same way. The simplification is really what we're trying to follow.
The 23-year-old forward scored 10 points, including four goals in 24 games this season with the Ducks.
This is not only a terrible blow for the Ducks, who lose an important forward in the lineup, but also for Zegras.
The player has dealt with enough health issues in his young career. If they continue to pile up, it could have an important impact on his development as an NHLer.
