In breaking news, the Chicago Blackhawks are facing a massive punishment for their termination of Corey Perry earlier this year, as his grievance has been ruled on.

Blackhawks Face 3 Million Dollar Punishment For Terminating Perry's Contract

Corey Perry is likely to be out of the limelight from now on, as his season has been a complete roller coaster ride. Earlier in the year, the Blackhawks terminated Perry's contract for reasons not disclosed to the public. However, Perry was granted a second chance to play by the Edmonton Oilers, and that was okayed by the Commissioner of the NHL, sparking speculation as to why the contract was terminated in the first place.

Now, it has been ruled that the Chicago Blackhawks will have to pay out 3 Million dollars of Perry's original 4 million dollar contract.

Our understanding of Perry termination/grievance resolution is #Blackhawks were assessed $1.99M Cap Charge for period after termination.

On top of the $1.02M cap charge while with team, CHI total cap charge will be $3.01M of Perry's original $4M contract

With this decision being made, it is hard to imagine that any of the details of what happened will be released to the public. It is likely that this will remain quiet, so it is impossible to speculate on whether it was right or wrong for the Blackhawks to terminate his deal.
