The Pittsburgh Penguins have one of the most loyal followings, but now that the times are getting rough for this veteran team, it appears that may no longer be the case.

Disappointing Attendance at PPG Paints Arena following the Penguins Struggles

The Pittsburgh Penguins opted to move Jake Guentzel at the recent trade deadline, signaling that their intentions this season are not to compete for a playoff spot, and the fans have immediately reacted.

During their game at home against the San Jose Sharks recently, some fans took photos of the empty PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, and it's not good viewing for the Penguins front office.

Given what Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang have brought this organization over the past two decades, it's tough to see the fans reacting like this after a little struggle, as they have often professed to being one of the NHL's most loyal fanbases.

Whether the team opt to move Sidney Crosby or not this upcoming summer, they need to pick a direction and stick with it, and after bringing so much success since the early 90's, hopefully the fans in Pittsburgh get behind whatever product is put on the ice.
