Unrestricted Free Agent Patrick Kane signs a new contract
UFA forward Patrick Kane was primed to hit free agency tomorrow but he and his agent Pat Brisson have come to an agreement to keep him in Detroit.
NHL insider Pierre LeBrun has announced that the Detroit Red Wings and Patrick Kane have agreed on a contract that will keep him around for another year.
Patrick Kane is staying in Detroit and will sign a one-year deal, per Pierre LeBrun.

Patrick Kane has reportedly agreed on a one-year contract extension with the Detroit Red Wings
Many speculated that Kane would sign in New York, Boston, Chicago, or Buffalo if he were to hit the open market but this contract has put all of the rumors to bed.
We will now wait and see what the dollar amount will be for Kane but as he coming off a deal worth $2.75 million, we could expect to see something in the same ballpark.
