Last night, the Winnipeg Jets and the Detroit Red Wings faced off on the ice of the Little Caesars Arena for the first time of the season. Winnipeg was looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season, last Monday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Jets did it in great fashion, beating the Red Wings 6-2, thanks to Kyle Connor's three-point tally and the offensive contribution of nine other Jets players.
This truly seemed like a perfect night for the Jets, but a small incident at their bench cast a shadow on the Jets' performance.
About halfway through the second period of the game, Scott Arniel, head coach of the Winnipeg Jets, completely lost it after the Red Wings scored a powerplay goal.
It all started when Dylan Samberg was sent to the penalty box for interference in a controversial play.
The Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin ended up scoring a goal in the following minutes, prompting Arniel to lose it at the bench.
He shouted at the referees and his players, visibly unhappy with the turn of events.
Check out how it all went down in the following videos:
Arniel's actions behind the bench show how passionate he is and how much he wants to win. That level of dedication is required in the NHL. If you want to win a Stanley Cup, you need to have someone like this leading the team.
