After years covering the Edmonton Oilers, Mark Spector has built relationships with the players, but unfortunately for him it's not always a positive experience.
At this point, it's no secret that the media in Canada is absolutely relentless to players in their market, and no place is a better example of that than in Edmonton. For years now, the team have been covered by veteran reporter Mark Spector, and throughout the past few years, he's been called out by Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and several players.
Despite the drama of the Stanley Cup Finals, some things never change, as Draisaitl called him out in a hilarious way after their Game Six victory.
SPECTOR: Uh, Leon, you should know these commercial flights are killing us old guys.
DRAISAITL: I don't feel bad for you.
Unfortunately for Spector, he's got two more commercial flights to go, as the series will once again shift back to Florida for a winner-take-all Game 7, but if he can cover yet another Stanley Cup, it will certainly ease the pain. With all the momentum behind them, Edmonton are on a roll and head into Game 7 as the favourites, and after the scenes in Game Six, it's safe to say they deserve to be incredibly confident.
