Martin St. Louis has faced plenty of backlash for his handling of the media in recent times, but now, it appears he's on the other side of inappropriate behavior.

In recent years, several Head Coaches in the NHL have pushed back against the media in post-game interviews, with the likes of John Tortorella, Martin St. Louis, and Patrick Roy all coming under fire. Now, however, the Montreal Canadiens boss has been at the heart of controversy again, but this time it is the journalist who faces scrutiny after a recent question asked to MSL.

After a recent game, St. Louis was asked if he would have a beer to forget the loss, and unsurprisingly, he handled the question well after he joked that they tasted much better after a victory.

Martin St. Louis was asked if he had a drink after a defeat:

'Are we going to talk about my alcohol consumption? *laughs* I don't think I'll use alcohol to get over it - but I'll tell you; beers taste better after a victory!'

On the surface, this may not be a question that inspires controversy for most, but alcohol consumption can be a touchy subject for some, and it simply wasn't an expected question after the team's latest loss. However, the main point to be made here is that these questions are asked after games for the purpose of content whether it be written or spoken, and asking a question about St. Louis' alcohol consumption simply does nothing for that, making it a very interesting situation.

Sure, learning about the players and the coaches can help with a personal connection to the fans, but the time and the place for that are off-season interviews and fun moments, not during the season after a loss, so hopefully this journalist learns to keep their questions much more relevant moving forward.
