Nashville fans stunned in silence following dangerous collision of Predators' teammates
Colton Sissons and Tommy Novak of the Nashville Predators suffered a very dangerous collision in last night's game that left the crowd in utter silence.
Tommy Novak, a forward with the Nashville Predators, had a strange event during Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Kings. A filthy hit was delivered to the forward; was it from his own teammate? Yes, it sure was.
The hit was a "freak play" because it came from his teammate Colton Sissons, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound NHL enforcer/grinder.
Tommy Novak just collided with his own teammate on a freak play. Caught Colton Sissons' shoulder up high and was down on the ice for an extended period. Was able to skate off on his own power, but visibly shaken up
A shoulder to the head was given to Novak following a normal play when he had his head down and skated into his teammate Sissons while they were both trying to recover the puck. Fans were on the edge of their seats as Novak was left down on the ice for a considerable amount of time due to the incident.
Fans made humorous remarks on social media, particularly the site X after Novak got up on his own, which led many to believe it wasn't going to be too serious after all. Following the collision with Sissons, Novak left the game and did not return.
Although it's not something that players and fans see every day or in every game, it's ultimately a heavyweight collision, and we wish Tommy Novak the best and hope that this won't lead him to miss any significant time. The Predators sure hope he comes back quickly.
