Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk showed everyone how strong he truly is yesterday when he manhandled Canucks' Conor Garland with ease.

An old saying seems to fit particularly well here: mess with the bull, and you get the horns.

Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland learned this lesson the hard way on Saturday night, trying to play a physical game against Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk.

Conor Garland tried to check him along the boards, but the Senators' leader wasn't having any of it, and overpowered Garland with a show of brute strength.

This was all about a hockey hit as Garland came in and big Brady Tkachuk stood him up, ultimately shrugging him off before slamming Garland to the ice with the smaller forward ending up flat on his back, his skates pointing skyward as Tkachuk casually skated away, the picture of innocence, as if it was just another day at the office for the rugged Tkachuk.

It's hard to blame Tkachuk, given his no-nonsense response, especially after a rough week.

Garland is a relentless pest who does a great job of getting under opponents' skin, but Tkachuk likely had little patience for it after taking a puck to the face earlier in the week.

The injury had left Tkachuk needing multiple stitches and extensive dental work, leaving him to joke that he now has "a face made for radio."

Brady Tkachuk will now look to take his hard playing style into Edmonton, as the Senators will battle against Connor McDavid and the Oilers tonight, and all eyes will be on which Oilers player will be next to get manhandled by Tkachuk.
