Flyers alienate top goaltending prospect forcing him to head back overseas
Top Philadelphia Flyers goalie prospect Aleksei Kolosov has had enough with his NHL team and is heading back overseas, as he feels alienated.
AHL reporter Tony Androckitis explained in detail why Kolosov has had it with the Flyers. He says that Kolosov was left all alone in a hotel room in a foreign country with no one to talk to for most of the day, and on a regular basis. Kolosov already struggles speaking English, so this was likely the final straw for him.
Per AHL source, Alexei Kolosov told #Flyers at the end of his stint w/ Lehigh Valley he did not want to return
"They put him in the hotel by himself & he felt isolated, especially since his English isn't great"

All of that isolation, combined with the lack of English, and the fact that he had to watch the Flyers sign another goalie, Ivan Fedotov, to an NHL contract immediately upon his North American arrival was simply all too much for Kolosov, and he officially wants out of the franchise.
Put yourself in Kolosov's shoes for a minute.
You're ~5,000 miles from home in a different country where you can't speak the native language or communicate with anyone.
You're the 3rd goalie getting minimal practice reps in AHL. What do you do the other 22 hours of the day?
The Flyers don't appear to have handled this situation correctly, and it may have just cost them one of the better goalies of the future.
