John Tortorella Ends Career Of 900 Game Veteran Due To Past Dispute
As part of their deadline moves, the Flyers acquired center Ryan Johansen from the Colorado Avalanche. They immediately waived the forward and now we know why.
Johansen Waived Due To History With Tortorella
Apparently, Johansen has a history with Flyers head coach John Tortorella. Considering Tortorella's strong personality, it makes sense that the veteran center might have a problem with him. Furthermore, he apparently shared some thoughts with his agent regarding the Cutter Gauthier situation that unfolded earlier this year. Notably, Johansen and Gauthier share the same agent.

Its been a tough week for the Flyers on the PR front as this news comes just after Tortorella was suspended for inappropriate behavior on the team's bench during their last game.
Tortorella Suspended For Refusing To leave Bench Following Ejection
The veteran coach was suspended two games and handed a 50000 dollar fine yesterday after he refused to leave the bench. The referees has ejected him and given the Flyers a bench minor for abuse of officials shortly after the team fell behind 4-0 to the Washington Capitals.
Two game suspension and $50,000 fine for Tortorella for refusal to leave the bench after being assessed a game misconduct.
