This off-season has been a lot of swings and misses for the Philadelphia Flyers, with the latest report revealing that they were all in on Ottawa Senators blue liner Jakob Chychrun before he was eventually traded to the Washington Capitals. According to that same report, they maintain interest in several young Senators, with the two names being revealed as Tyler Boucher and Ridly Greig.
Neither have established themselves as stars in the NHL yet, but they are both considered to be key players of the future in Ottawa, and it's likely that Philadelphia won't be the only team interested in either if the Senators struggle early in 2024/25. Greig is largely known for a controversial incident in 2023/24 when he took a slapshot into the Maple Leafs' empty net, but beyond that, he had a solid first full season in the NHL, tallying 13 goals and 13 assists in 72 games played.
Tyler Boucher, at 21 years of age on the other hand is yet to make it to the NHL, but with the style of hockey that Philadelphia plays, it's no surprise that they are interested in the 6-foot-1, 205-pound defenseman. It's unclear whether talks around the two have continued, but with the Flyers looking to build around this young core, they will continue to pursue them in the near future as they look to get back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs with their core group.
