Tonight the NHL has announced that the preseason game between the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins has been delayed due to major travel issues.
According to a statement released by the Detroit Red Wings, their game against the Pittsburgh Penguins will begin later tonight. Reports confirm that the game originally scheduled for 7 pm will now be moved to 8:30 pm.
Earlier today the Pittsburgh Penguins could be seen boarding a flight to Detroit. Since then they have gotten delayed and now the start of their game will need to be delayed.
This game serves as one of the final tune-up games for both teams heading into the NHL season. The Pittsburgh Penguins will ice a mix of NHL and AHL competition with Rutger McGroarty and Tristan Jarry highlighting the lineup.
It remains to be seen how the new start time will impact these two teams heading into this game. Hopefully, this will not be a sign of things to come for the NHL season. With all of the major weather events across the United States, things could be impacted for several days.
As more information is provided on this upcoming game we will pass the news along to you.
