Currently, the Penguins are without a first-round pick because they traded it to San Jose as a part of the Erik Karlsson trade, but they do have two second-round picks, 44th and 46th overall. With an aging core, the Penguins may wind up trading some of their older talent in exchange for a first-round pick this year.
Last year, the Penguins drafted Brayden Yager 14th overall and he is undoubtedly their top prospect at the moment. With less draft capital than last year, it looks like Pittsburgh and Dubas will need to work some magic if they want to pick up another top prospect.
