The Toronto Maple Leafs have some moves to make upfront in order to be Stanley Cup contenders, and now they've been linked to two shocking moves.
Despite some solid additions to the back end, the Toronto Maple Leafs have failed to beef up their offensive group this off-season, and now we may be looking at two huge moves ahead of training camp. According to speculation on social media, the team is interested in veterans Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck, both of whom were waived by the Islanders earlier this off-season.
With both well and truly into their 30's, with a history of low point totals, it makes little sense however, as the fourth line is already led by Ryan Reaves and David Kampf, and if the team are looking to sign them for any other position in their lineup, it makes even less sense.
However, we know that Brad Treliving favours big, physical players, so while most are expecting a trade revolving around Nick Robertson and one of the aforementioned players, don't be surprised to see them take two low-risk swings at Martin and Clutterbuck.
