Top Washington Capitals Prospect Has Been Arrested On Several Charges
Cam Allen is one of the best prospects within the Washington Capitals organization, and he was arrested and charged with a couple of serious offenses.
Cam Allen was a top prospect in his draft class and also a 2023 fifth-round pick by the Washington Capitals, as he had a real standout rookie season in the OHL back in 2021-22.
He dominated as a 16-year-old and also wore the captaincy of Canada's U18 team. But his draft year was a tough one with the Guelph Storm, and his stock fell from projected first-rounder to fifth-round selection.
Despite that, Washington signed him to an entry-level contract relatively quickly. Now, Allen's hockey future is in serious jeopardy after he was arrested.
A London man was arrested yesterday morning after members of the London Police Service Uniformed Division responded to a running unoccupied vehicle that appeared to have been involved in a collision in the south end of the city.
On Saturday, February 8, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., a citizen called 911 in relation to a single vehicle collision in the area of Colonel Talbot Road near Clayton Walk. Police were advised what appeared to be bl**d had been located on the driver's side door and leading away from the vehicle.
Officers arrived and located the vehicle. The driver was located and arrested a short distance away at a nearby address.
One of the passengers was transported by paramedic services to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Cameron Allen, 20, of London, is charged with the following offences:
Impaired operation of a conveyance; Impaired operation exceed blood alcohol concentration; Fail to remain; Fail to report accident; and, Novice driver- bl**d alcohol concentration above zero.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in London court on March 6, 2025, in relation to the charges.
It wasn't just an accident; he even fled the scene without a care about the other injured passengers. That'll surely get him in some discipline with the London Knights, who traded seven draft picks for him only three months ago.
On Saturday, February 8, 2025, Cam Allen was charged by the London Police Service with offences related to impaired driving. The team takes this matter very seriously and are in the process of gathering all relevant information.
We have been in contact with the OHL and will handle this in accordance with both league and team conduct policies. Disciplinary action will be determined by the OHL.
In our discussions, we understand that Cam takes this matter very seriously and has assured us that he will fully cooperate with the court process. Cam understands the responsibility that comes with being a member of this organization and a representative of our community.
We will provide further updates as appropriate and appreciate the understanding of our fans and community.
Thankfully, no one seriously got hurt, but it also goes to show one has to answer for their wrongdoings. A near certain NHLer became someone that now seems to have his hockey career in jeopardy due to a series of very poor choices.
