Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren scored in his own net last night, and following the game, his teammates gave him something "special" for it.

You won't believe your eyes, this has got to be one of the worst own-goals hockey fans have ever had to see.

Washington Capitals goalie Charlie Lindgren actually put the puck in the back of his net last night as smoothly as team captain Alex Ovechkin buries a shot game after game. You have got to see it to believe it.

Lindgren likely intended to bank the puck off the boards to his teammate John Carlson, but his kinesthetic sense failed him as he horribly misjudged the whereabouts of the goalie net he was responsible for protecting.

There was a silver lining: The team rallied to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in style, overcoming Lindgren's blunder.

Not only did the own goal give Tampa Bay the lead, but it also gave Brayden Point a hat trick, one which is will likely never forget for how unusual it was.

The Capitals sure love to keep the mood light. In a hilarious twist, the boys named Lindgren their Player of the Game, jokingly celebrating his "first NHL tuck."

This is peak team spirit, we love to see it! The Capitals have remained very competitive and continue to find ways to win games despite not having their captain after he went down with an injury last week.
