Robin Lehner is said to be missing following mental health struggles
No one has heard from Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Robin Lehner since June, and with a history of mental health struggles, many are very concerned.
Unfortunately, the worst case may just be coming true as it pertains to former NHL goalie Robin Lehner.
Lehner, who last played an NHL game in 2022, is claimed to have totally cut contact with the outside world for months.
The 33-year-old has been embroiled in a $25 million lawsuit regarding an exotic reptile farm he purchased in rural Missouri and filed for bankruptcy not too long ago with his wife, Donya.
Now, Lehner's Swedish lawyers Larson & Zirzow told 'Expressen' they've ceased representing him due to a lack of communication since several months ago.
"Throughout the Chapter 7 filing, communication with the debtors, particularly Mr. Lehner, has been difficult and often sporadic, requiring attempts to reach Mr. Lehner through individuals who worked to facilitate communication between Mr. Lehner and Larson & Zirzow."
And - since last summer it has gotten even worse.
"Since estimated early June 2024, communication from Mr. Lehner has completely ceased, despite repeated contact attempts by Larson & Zirzow using a variety of methods to not only Mr. Lehner himself but also to the individuals who previously facilitated the communication."
The law firm also writes that the dialogue with Donya Lehner - who is part of the bankruptcy case - has been "minimal" and that, overall, they cannot represent the Lehner couple anymore.
"Furthermore, the debtors have been unable or unwilling to compensate Larson & Zirzow for services rendered, // which has led to an unreasonable financial burden on L&Z and is grounds for rescinding the assignment."
- Attorney Zachariah Larson
In other words, Lehner and his wife have stopped paying their bills and have gone radio silent.
He leaves us to our speculations, and thoughts in times past. Adding to the many reasons for his sudden disappearance is also this distressingly possible scenario: he might be in some financial trouble with unsavory characters.
While as much as we cannot irresponsibly speculate, the lack of updates does have many fans seriously concerned for his safety and well-being.
Lehner did not appear at this season's Vegas Golden Knights training camp, and his contract was finally settled through mutual termination.
Robin, as dark as life may seem at the moment, there is always a chance for better, fuller days. You have been through it before; you can again. People think about you and hope you find your recovery and peace.
