Crazy Goalie Fight Breaks Out In Junior Hockey Game
Western Hockey League goaltenders Kelton Pyne and Jackson Unger dropped the gloves for one of the best goalie fights the sport has seen in some time. The fight came as tensions boiled over in the 9-1 game.
Junior hockey brawl turns into extended goalie fight
Hockey is a fast and very physical sport. As such, emotions can often run high as players take liberties with their opponents. It is especially common to see scrums break out in games with lopsided scores. Throw in the fact that all the players are kids and you have the recipe for a powder keg just waiting to explode. That is exactly what happened in the WHL yesterday as the Regina Pats lost 11-1 to the Moosejaw Warriors last night.
IT'S A FULL OUT DONNYBROOK!!!
A fan in attendance got a better look at the fight. Luckily they recorded the tussle for us to enjoy.
The Warriors continued to score after the scrum even when both goaltenders were ejected. They would add two late goals from Pavel Mackenzie and Martin Rysavy, who completed his hat trick bid.
ITS A HATTRICK FOR MARTY!
It was the last game of the regular season for both teams. The Pats will be looking to build for the future after the loss while Moosejaw will look to go on a long playoff run. It has been a strong season for the Warriors, lead by Seattle Kraken prospect Jagger Firkus. Firkus recorded five points in the game, including a hat trick of his own.
Jagger FIrkus scored a hat trick to get to 61 goals on the season for Moose Jaw tonight... this was goal No. 2 of the night.
He still leads the WHL in points as well.
Firkus ended the season with 61 goals and 126 points, earning the WHL scoring title.
Jagger Firkus is your Bobby Clarke Trophy winner as the WHL scoring leader!
Firkus finishes the season with 126 points
Firkus will look to make his NHL debut with the Kraken next season as the team looks to make the playoffs for their second time in franchise history.
