After a quick rise to stardom in his rookie season, New York Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe has called out one veteran forward he would like to fight next season: Milan Lucic.
While Matt Rempe hopes to get more time on the ice next season, he is already looking ahead to his next fight. During a recent autograph session, he was asked who he would most like to fight next season. His answer: veteran forward Milan Lucic.
Milan Lucic is no stranger to a throwdown, having fought several players during his earlier years with the Boston Bruins. However, the 36-year-old forward has a four-inch height disadvantage and barely made a showing in the NHL last season, playing only four games during the regular season. Although Matt Rempe has far less experience and finesse when it comes time to drop the gloves, he has both youth on his dies, as well as receiving training from former Edmonton Oilers enforcer Georges Laraque.
While Matt Rempe continues to train heading into the upcoming season, Milan Lucic will likely be looking for a PTO offer, making it all the more unlikely we will see these two fight it out on the ice. Nevertheless, we can likely expect another brutal presence from Matt Rempe with the New York Rangers.
