Jakob Chychrun is one of the top player rumoured to be available for the upcoming trade deadline and with his age, contract and potential, he is going to be quite the player for a team to get.
According to TSN's Darren Dreger, 8 teams were involved in the Jakob Chychrun sweepstakes. The asking price for Chychrun has been revealed and it's insane:
Per ESPN's Greg Wyshynski:
Had one NHL GM tell me today that the price is going to be off the charts high. That this isn't going to be a "1st and two top prospects" type of deal. Arizona Coyotes swinging for fences on the ask, apparently.
This is quite the ask for a player, but like mentioned before, his age, contract and potential all play a part. You are getting a top tier defenceman at an amazing cap hit with term. That does not come around often and definitely wouldn't be cheap to acquire.
