Bruins Reassign Poitras To Allow Him to Play For Team Canada's World Junior Team
The Boston Bruins announced today that they would be reassigning their top rookie Matt Poitras, in order to allow him to play in the World Junior tournament for Team Canada.
The #NHLBruins have assigned Matt Poitras to Team Canada for the upcoming 2024 IIHF #WorldJuniors Tournament in Sweden.
Good luck, Potsy!!
While this is not a demotion indicative of Poitras' play, the Bruins have decided to take the risk in allowing him to play for Team Canada over the Holidays. Poitras has appeared in 27 games for the Bruins, scoring five goals and eight assists for 13 points.
Bruins fans may find it weird cheering against Poitras as he suits up for Team Canada, USA's main rival.
