After a bit of drama with the San Jose Sharks, Kane was sent to the American Hockey League. The Sharks claimed while in the AHL, that Kane broke COVID protocols and took the opportunity to get out of their contract with Kane.
Admitting he did nothing of the sort, Kane and his representation filed a claim against the Sharks stating that they did not breach any rules.
It was reported recently that a settlement was not likely going to happen, with both sides stating they were not wrong to do what they did, but it appears there has been a change of heart.
According to NHL Insider Kevin Weekes, both parties have reached an agreement, which Weekes shared on Twitter:
**Breaking News** 🚨 📰
I'm told that a verbal settlement agreement has been reached in Evander Kane's Grievance Case against the @SanJoseSharks .@espn @NHLNetwork @NHL #HockeyTwitter Kevin Weekes (@KevinWeekes) September 16, 2022
We do not know the details of the settlement yet, but it will most likely have some repercussions for the San Jose Sharks salary cap.
Are we beginning to see that Kane isn't as bad as the media portrayed him to be?
