BREAKING: Evgeni Malkin suspended - You won't believe for how long!
After yesterday's game in which Evgeni Malkin cross checked Mark Borowiecki in the throat and cutting him open, there were a lot of thoughts that Malkin was definitely getting suspended for the play.
Today it was announced that he had a meeting with the Department of Player Safety, which could suspend him for a maximum of 4 games.
We have just learned that Malkin has been suspended for 4 games.
BREAKING: Per source, Evgeni Malkin will be suspended four games for cross-checking Nashville defenseman Mark Borowiecki in the face during Sunday's game.

While I do agree that Malkin definitely deserved a suspension for this unnecessary cross-check, there is no consistency within the Department of Player Safety.
No more than a month ago, Auston Matthews did pretty well the same thing and only received a 2 game suspension, so why does Malkin get a 4 game?
