This morning Nylander revealed his rationale for playing through illness in a post-skate press conference ahead of game 2 tonight.

With Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews both recording 3 points in game 1 for Toronto, after underperforming in the 2021 playoffs, the Bolts should be worried about what a healthy Nylander can do for Toronto's already humming offense in game 2.
Nylander led the team with 8 points in Toronto's eventual round 1 exit against the Montreal Canadiens in the 2021 NHL playoffs, and seems to have the fire in his belly, as opposed to sushi during game 1, to help Toronto have a deep run in the playoffs.
