He was then sent to the Kraken's AHL franchise the Coachella Valley Firebirds, for 5 games where he scored 4 goals and proved he can produce in a professional league.
Tonight the Seattle Kraken host the Montreal Canadiens, and this is going to be a must-watch game.
If everyone remember's Shane Wright was the projected #1 overall pick, but the Canadiens passed on him for Juraj Slafkovsky. When Wright was selected at 4th, there is a video of him staring down the Habs table with a dirty look.
Just noticed that it looked like Shane Wright gave the Montreal Canadiens draft table an absolute death stare up on the stage. The NHL needs more emotion and drama. I love it. pic.twitter.com/YMYnL5f8Ln— RACKS PACIORETTY (@CanesGotNext) July 8, 2022
So tonight, you know Wright is going to be looking to prove that he is better than Slafkovsky.
In his first 7 games, he was always played on the 4th line, and well, knowing the importance of this game, it looks like the Kraken are giving him a shot to get redemption on the Habs for not selecting him as they've bumped him up to play between Yanni Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand on the 3rd line, two players who are very gifted offensively.

Slafkovsky has 4 goals and 7 points in the 20 games this season, it will be interesting to see who out-duels the other tonight.
