The Pittsburgh Penguins have just made a trade with the Nashville Predators where they have acquired forward Philip Tomasino for a 2027 fourth-round pick.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Philip Tomasino from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round draft pick, originally owned by the New York Rangers.

The announcement was made today by Kyle Dubas, the team's President of Hockey Operations and General Manager.

Tomasino is signed through the 2024-25 season with an NHL salary cap hit of $825,000 annually. He will reportedly arrive in Pittsburgh today and join the team's practice on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old forward has spent the last five years in the Predators organization, suiting up for both Nashville and their AHL affiliates, the Milwaukee Admirals and Chicago Wolves.

In 159 NHL games, Tomasino has notched 23 goals, 48 assists, and 71 points. In 89 AHL appearances, Tomasino has scored 36 goals, adding 46 assists for 82 points.

Tomasino's best NHL campaign to date came as a rookie in 2021-22, notching career highs in goals with 11, assists with 21, and points with 32 in 76 games with Nashville.

Prior to turning pro, Tomasino spent three seasons in the OHL between the Niagara IceDogs and Oshawa Generals, collecting 79 goals, 117 assists, and 196 points in 190 career games.

A product of Mississauga, Ontario, Tomasino played internationally for Canada in the 2019 World Under-18 Championship and the 2021 World Junior Championship, helping the squad secure a silver medal.

Initially drafted by Nashville in the first round, 24th overall, of the 2019 NHL Draft, Tomasino will now join the Penguins as they continue to build their roster for the future.
