We live in a world where people are afraid to admit they have a problem. When people do realize they need to make a change, it takes a lot of strength for them to admit they need help and seek it out.
Thats exactly what the Detroit Red Wings Jakub Vrana did two months ago in October. After battling with some issues, Vrana showed strength and admitted he needed some help and entered into the National Hockey Leagues Player Assistance Program.
After two months in the program, we are very happy to announce that Vrana has returned to Detroit and to practice, entering the next stage of the program:
The National Hockey League and National Hockey League Players' Association announced today that Detroit Red Wings forward Jakub Vrana has been returned to available status and has entered the follow-up care phase of the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program.
Vrana's care continues to be administered pursuant to the player assistance program.
Jakub Vrana has rejoined #RedWings for practice. Was in NHL NHLPA players assistance program since first week of season. He's wearing blue non contact jersey.
Vrana only got into 2 games this season before entering the program, but made his presence felt in those games, scoring 1 goal and 1 assist. Throughout his career with the Washington Capitals and Detroit Red Wings, per60 minutes he has scored at a very high pace 5on5. Look for Vrana to shoot out of a cannon for the Wings for the remainder of the season.
